Report: Russia compensates losses to Belarus, Mozyr issue unsolved
MINSK, Aug 30 (PRIME) -- Russia has compensated some of Belarus’s losses from contaminated oil pumped via the Druzhba pipeline but compensation for the Mozyr refinery damage is yet to be discussed, Chairman of state petrochemical company Belneftekhim Andrei Rybakov said, as cited by newswire Belta on Friday.
“I can say that significant losses of Belarus, the price of 1.2 million tonnes of dirty oil, have been compensated as cleaning of the pipeline from oil contaminated with chlorides is over,” Rybakov said, adding that the tariff for oil transit was raised by 3.7% from September 1 ahead of schedule to cover the pipeline damage.
“We are in constant dialogue with the Russian side on the ways of its (Mozyr issue) solution,” Rybakov said.
The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in April. In Belarus, the pipeline splits into two stings, of which one goes to Poland and Germany, and the other to Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary.
